Photography Goals for 2011
Lifestyle

It’s that time of year again. We all sit down and come up with goals for 2011. I know I have several personal and photography goals. I thought give you some ideas to start you off.

1. Become comfortable shooting on manual mode.

2. Learn to edit using either Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, or my favorite Lightroom.

3. Learn new techniques such as backlighting or silhouettes.

4. Take your camera everywhere and don’t be afraid to take it out to use it.

5. Print your favorite photos every month.

6. Back up your photos!!

7. Do a Project 365.

8. Take a workshop, Clickin’ Moms has the BEST workshop.

What are your photography goals for 2011??

I know my biggest one is to take at least two workshops through Clickinmoms and to print my photos monthly!

I am starting to get a lot of the technical stuff down. I would love to be more creative and fun with my pictures. I want to be able to get perspectives.

I would love to get a great silhouette and sunburst.

I am also new to 365.

I need to get better at taking better pictures indoors too.

These are great! I LOVE silhouettes and when y’all in the States get the sun back again and it’s not freezing I’ll post a lesson on them :O)

    My goals:
    1. Learn how to navigte LR (I already bought SK’s book!)
    2. Continue my 365.
    3. Get a zoom lens (maybe more of a budget goal!)
    4. Continue to suck up all the knowledge you have learned thru osmosis. Watch out.

Trisha, your goals sound a lot like mine. :)

    1. Take on my 365.
    2. Become more creative and photograph more of the “details” of our lives.
    3. Get a zoom lens. (My list of photography “wants” are listed on the fridge in case the husband wants to buy something.)
    4. Continue to bug you about photography stuff while I still live here and we don’t have to worry about a time zone difference yet. :)

I can happily say I FINALLY backed up all my photo’s! And I really should start to print photo’s out every month, that’s a great goal actually! And I definitely want to become more comfortable shooting manual!

    Hi Courtney,
I love your goals and I share some of the same ones too.

I had a question about Clickin Moms. I’ve been to their site several times but never joined because of the fee. How does it compare to ilovephotography.com? One of the reasons I haven’t joined is because I learn so much on ILP, but I’ve been intrigued by CM for a while. :)

    Thanks for any input!

Honestly, I haven’t spent a lot of time on ILP. I really liked the idea of a community of moms/women helping each other out. I think the fee is definitely worth it, in fact, I became a lifetime member. Their workshops are fabulous and I can’t say enough good things about them!! It is a wonderful community of extremely helpful people! They cover everything from tips to improve your photos, inspiration, and business ideas.
