Photography Christmas Wish List
Lifestyle

I was asked in the Ask Me Anything section to create a wish list for photographers…my pleasure :O) I love to make lists of dream items. Some of these I have and LOVE and some are just on my wish list.

Stocking Stuffers

16 GB Memory Card – If this little guy doesn’t show up in my stocking then I will definitely be buying it for myself. Before we left for Tokyo I bought 5 4GB cards to hold all my pictures. Now I have cards everywhere! I would love to have just one gigantic card to hold all my photos :O)

J West Studios – Keychain – I don’t know if you are like me but I don’t carry pictures of my girls in my wallet. What a fun way to have a picture of them with me and not on an iPhone! Plus it is a nice reminder of how sweet they can be when they are driving me crazy while I am in the car

*Understanding Exposure – If you are looking for an amazing photography book this is the way to go. I know I mentioned it before but I can’t mention it enough. I learned so much from this book and continue to learn new things each time I open it. It is full of some amazing photos to help make the information stick.

Lens Pet for you Camera by Mandee Franee – How stinkin’ cute are these! What a clever idea! I think this would work great for the little ones and especially little ones at a photo shoot. You could create a whole little personality for this pet, give it a name, and even tell the child that it eats smiles so they need to help feed it.

*Nikon Wireless Remote – I couldn’t live without my remote. In fact, I have two so that if I lose one or my dogs eat one again then I’m ready. I use this at least once a week to take my Monday Me pictures. It’s great for taking your own family photos as well. It definitely beats the method my dad loved which was set the timer, run to get in the photo, smile, and then repeat, repeat, repeat. Oh, how our Christmas pictures when we were kids could have been so much easier if only we had had a remote!

Joby Flexible Tripod – Is this not the cutest thing you have ever seen?? Just think, you could slide this and your remote in your bag when you head out with the family. If you kept it in your bag you would never have an excuse not to be in your family photos! Plus, think about all those times you were out and wanted to play with your shutter speed but forgot your tripod – Viola!

Camera Mug Lens – I want one of these even though I’m not a coffee drinker. I love this idea! Be sure to grab one for your coffee or tea drinker.

Under the Tree

Westcott 301 Photo Basics 40-Inch 5-in-1 Reflector – I don’t use mine all the time but I love having it :O) If you want to add a little more light to your photos and get some good catchlights in backlighting a reflector is the way to go.

*Lightroom 3 – unless this is your first visit to my blog you know what a huge fan of Lightroom I am.

*Kelly Moore Photography Bag – I love my bag and continue to get compliments on it. Since I use it as a camera bag and my mommy bag, I get to feel stylish while be completely functional.

*Nikon 50mm 1.8 – This is such an amazing lens for the price. I used only this lens for a little less then a year. The fact that the aperture goes to a 1.8 is great for low lighting situations. *Before you buy any lens be sure to if it is a Canon or Nikon so you can get the correct one for your camera*

*Manfrotto Aluminum Tripod – What a difference between this and an inexpensive one from Target. If you do get this tripod don’t forget to get a Manfrotto Joystick Head Shortbecause professional tripods don’t come with the piece that attaches the camera to the tripod. The joystick head is wonderful! Instead of having to stand there and turn knobs for it to move right/left or up/down you just move this piece around like, well, a joystick :O) Super easy!

A Christmas Miracle

Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8G – This is my dream lens. Isn’t she lovely! This lens with my dream camera…awww a girl can dream :O)

Nikon D700 – This is my dream camera :O) I have been hinting big time that I want this. Unfortunately, I will need to do a lot of saving for this bad boy.

*Things I own

What’s in your wish list???

Ooo- Janell, you have good taste :)

I have the Black Rapid strap and love it and am pining away for the 14-24… sigh…. :)

My list (in my dreams) is the d700 and the nikkor 14-24 2.8. More realistically, there are some great books out there that I’m hoping for! Check out Skin by Lee Varis if anyone is looking for a good technical pp book… it’s one I already have and love :)

I love the list. I told Sam I was going to go ahead and buy the remote, so it should be here soon. I ABSOLUTELY love the lens mug!!!! I’m with you on the dream lens. Maybe, if I have NO MORE children and I go back to work….okay I could just save for a while. I also want the reflector.

    YAY!!!! I WON!!! I WON!!!

    Thanks Courtney.

Great list. I want the 50mm too, but since I just got my new camera lenses will have to wait.
